International Missions
At St. Matthew we know that God gives us the privilege and
opportunity to serve more people than those directly around us. Therefore, we take every opportunity to impact the world for Christ nationally and internationally. Here's a few of the current ways we're doing just that:
National Missions
- Hurricane Relief teams assist the recovery from Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi, Miss.
- Youth Ministry teams serve needs in other American cities in summer mission trips.
- Japanese Ministry Association, with St. Matthew leadership, encourages and resources others in Japanese ministry in American, and links with ministry in Japan.
- Financial support for POBLO and other ethnic ministries
International Missions
- Short term ministry teams, with St. Matthew members, support the work of MOST ministries in eyeglass and dental clinics, vacation Bible schools, and other types of ministry in many countries. In recent years a number of VBS teams served in the far reaches of Alaska.
- Missy Melvin and Lutheran Bible Translators in the Philippines
