International Friends offers help and friendship to our international neighbors. All nationalities are welcome. We offer many free classes and activities in easy English, especially for international adults and children.
One of our staff members speaks Japanese, and we have the ability to translate materials into Japanese, Korean, German, and Spanish when needed. We hope to help our international friends to enjoy their lives in our country, and to discover Jesus, through English Conversation groups, Survival in America, Beginning English, American Cooking, Quilting for World Relief, Classes for Children and moms and for Preschoolers, Women’s Chorus, and Bible Classes.
Most of our classes meet in a small group format. Our international friends also volunteer in various St. Matthew ministries, such as school classrooms, VBS, and various music ministries and occasionally join us in worship services and special events..
Quality Childcare gives parents a break from children and a chance to enjoy friendships with Americans and other international people. Wonderful friendships are enjoyed by American volunteers and our international neighbors. Family Fun Days and Christmas and Easter Celebrations are large group events to which all are welcome, even if not registered in classes.
Personal help in crisis is also offered – whether it’s help with a traffic accident, pregnancy and childbirth in America, illness or other needs. We seek to share Jesus love with our friends in many ways.
