been a long time... call decision

After an intense season of wrestling with God's plans for me, St. Matthew, and this series of calling churches, I'm pleased to announce that this season is coming to an end.

This week God made clear that I should decline the final call to Faith Lutheran church in Port Huron and remain in His service at St. Matthew for longer. Thank you to all who have been praying, writing notes, and giving words of encouragement and discernment. I'm still not sure why God has chosen to bring all these calls in a row, but I hope that he has gotten our full attention as we move into our next season of ministry! He's got plans for us!

Peace-
Pastor Dion

The Master's Call...

Perhaps the succession of calls is a reminder, both to us and to Dion, that the time is short and The Call of the Master is urgent. Since the Lord has allowed Dion to stay and remain for a further season, He expects fruitful ministry from all of us. Let us resolve to have an open mind and an open heart as we embrace God’s call and each other. Let us also resolve not to let any of our sensibilities, protocols, procedures, and politics get in the way of reaching out to broken, hurting people and a community in travail.

Dion, we are so happy that God has made his will clear in your life, because that is what is most important. I think it is a true testament to your character and your heart for God, as to why you continue to be called on by other churches. They want the "fire" too! I think this was an "eye opener" for all of us. I truly believe that God is doing amazing things at St. Matthew, and it was such a great experience to practice wrestling with God. I know personally, I don't do it enough. I pray as we move forward, and as you continue be one of our fearless leaders, that we make this act of wrestling with God- something permanent. Tuesday night prayer was a blessing to have so many people come and just cry out to the Lord on your behalf and the churches behalf. Why is it so hard to do this? I am excited to see the direction in which God leads the church, and in the direction that God leads you Dion! We are so fortunate to have you, and I know we all feel that way now more than ever. Blessings.

thanks guys. I agree that time is VERY short. We are called to make the most of every opportunity...(Ephesians 5:15-17) I'm asking God what that means for me and for us together. Please join me in asking!
